Antonio Gram is Esben Valløe.
Since Esben and his friend Mads Damsgaard Kristiansen founded Reptile Youth in 2009, he has worked with eg. The Cure producer Dave M. Allen and Hot Chip producer Marc Ralph and had his tracks remixed by the likes of Kasper Bjørke and Trentemøller. Reptile Youth got to play at big festivals like Melt, Fusion and Roskilde and got booked for club shows from Mexico City to Tokyo. When The Guardian appointed them the new band of the week, they proclaimed that the music “demands, to be heard. To be stolen or bought.”
Antonio Gram is beyond boundaries, an energetic bouquet of techno, trap and oriental influences. The songs feature a broad variety of collaborations from San Diego to South Africa and the music is said to take you on a diverse journey through the mixtapes and compilations you played on repeat in your teenage room.
“German techno and Middle Eastern sounds” – VICE
The video for DEMONS had a warm welcome by notable media in 13 countries and as VICE puts it, “features Roman statues bending, breaking, melting and dancing—from stillness to movement, from rigidity to fluidity, from solo to couple. It’s a balance that’s recognizably human yet also uncomfortably robotic and alien.”
Antonio Gram already played his first show at SPOT festival this year acclaimed by UNISON as “electronic music of international class”.
