Introducing Cinematic Folk, the musical and visual that is Gold Coast singer and songwriter, Ella Fence. From her first musical note played before you see a single image, your mind already wanders into a great western film scene with Nancy Sinatra as the leading lady. Performing either solo, or as the front woman of her three piece, all female trio, this songstress touches the senses, evokes emotion and captivates audiences.
Not only did Ella record the first four tracks of her debut EP Wanderlust at the renowned Brighton Electric Studios (UK), home to the likes of artists such as The Cure and Royal Blood, with
producer Dan Swift (Snow Patrol, Passenger), she then travelled to Paris to record the B-side track with Ken Stringfellow (REM, The Posies).
A Grant McLennan Fellowship 2015 Finalist with a musical theatre point of difference, Ella has the edge to offer an outstanding live show, having performed a key role in a major production of Jesus Christ Superstar at The Arts Centre Gold Coast and has just been cast as Snow White in a dark- twisted version of the story, a collaboration between Opera Queensland, La Boite Theatre Company and Brisbane Festival.
